The Slow Medicine Collective Mission & Values

Our Mission

The Slow Medicine Collective is leading a movement toward a new way of healing - one that puts the person at the center and considers all aspects of what it is to be a human seeking health and wellbeing. We take the time to cultivate trust and security in order to foster transformational and sustainable healing. We ask the question: what in your environment needs to be remediated in order to allow for healing to take root? It is through this question that we educate not only our clients but also the practitioners we train in the Slow Medicine methodology.

Our Values

Humanness – we honor and celebrate the complex, nuanced and perfectly imperfect ways that all of us show up as humans in the world and welcome all parts of you into this collective.

Healing - we believe that healing is a process of coming back to our innate wholeness rather than a fixing of what is broken. More than just adding in supplements and smoothies, healing is a sacred process that can lead us back to our authentic selves.

Growth - we foster a growth mindset and believe that each and every one of us has the ability to grow, evolve and change as we move through life.

Inclusivity – we actively work towards creating a collective where we are serving a diverse array of clients from a variety of backgrounds, sexual orientations and economic circumstances. We currently do this through:

  • Investing in anti-racism education and training

  • Offering free resources and scholarship opportunities

  • Working with and promoting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ vendors, companies, and partners

  • Clearly communicating and upholding our shared values and responding to community feedback

Integrity – we practice what we preach and believe that the medicine we are sharing with the world is also the medicine that we ourselves are working with.

Curiosity – we deeply value curiosity and questions as powerful tools to open new opportunities and ways of thinking.  We all have the capacity for curiosity and at the Slow Medicine Collective, we believe that the art of asking questions and working with inquiry is how we evoke growth and change.
